What Is a Double Shaft Shredder?

A double shaft shredder (also called a twin shaft shredder or dual shaft shredder) cuts, tears and shears bulky waste between two counter–rotating shafts fitted with multi–claw blades. Low speed and high torque keep noise and dust low while delivering strong crushing power.

Double shaft shredders are widely used in solid waste utilization fields such as kitchen waste, domestic waste, waste plastics, wood, tires, metals and household appliances. They are often placed before a screw press dewatering machine: shredding fruits, vegetable waste or kitchen waste first maximizes juice yield and protects the screw press from oversized or tangled feed.
